AKAYEV WILL NOT DISCUSS RESIGNATION WITH OPPOSITION

Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev said he will not resign from his post as the Kyrgyz opposition has been demanding. \"As for my resignation, this issue lies outside the capability of any political forces,\" Akayev said in a televised speech on Tuesday evening. \"This decision can only be made by the people or the parliament, and we will not negotiate on this subject,\" Akayev said.
