Kazakhstan has set up a national, wholly state-owned company to operate the country's trunk pipelines called Oil and Gas Transport(TNG). The government issued a resolution to set up the company on 2 May. The company will get the government's 100 per cent stake in KazTransOil and 50 per cent stake in Kazmortransflot, as well as state stakes in a number of companies earlier transferred to KazTransOil, including 100 per cent of KazTransGaz, 90 per cent of Aktyubinskneftesvyaz, 99 per cent of Munai-Impex, 90 per cent of KazTranSvyaz, 100 per cent of the Atyrau international airport and helicopter company Euro-Asia Air, and 3.5 percent of communications company Bailanys. The new company will handle marketing, operate oil and gas pipelines,organize financing, develop feasibility studies, draw up blueprints for and build new pipelines, as well as take part in all of Kazakhstan's domestic and international hydrocarbon transport projects.
