OFFICIAL SAYS SINGAPORE COMPANY TO INVEST $1.5 BILLION IN UZBEK ECONOMY

Nurmukhamed Akhmedov, the head of the Uzbek national oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz, told journalists on January 31 that Singapore\'s Temasek Holdings intends to invest $1.5 billion in the Uzbek oil and gas sector. Akhmedov said that Uzbekneftegaz will discuss five investment projects with Temasek Holdings in 2007.
