The U.S. administration supports the Georgian government\'s insistence on the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the conflict zones in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali district, U.S. Senator Richard Lugar said at a joint briefing with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli on Tuesday. Lugar said he hoped that the Georgian authorities would find a peaceful solution to the conflicts in the breakaway provinces. The senator also backed Georgia\'s bid for accession to NATO and welcomed the recent reforms in the country. (Interfax)
