Five hundred servicemen from Russia\'s North Caucasus Military District have arrived in Tskhinvali, South Ossetia, to replace the Russian peacekeeping battalion from the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. \"A convoy of Russian servicemen has arrived in Tskhinvali. There were no incidents on the journey. Thus, the rotation of the Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia is proceeding according to plan,\" Joint Peacekeeping Forces chief of staff Col. Rem Akimov told Interfax Tuesday. The incoming peacekeepers will start taking charge of military hardware and other material on Wednesday, he said. \"The peacekeeping contingent to be relieved - five hundred servicemen - will depart for Russia on June 1,\" Akimov said.
