BISHKEK RALLY DEMANDS KULOV\'S RESIGNATION

Up to 3,000 people have joined a rally in downtown Bishkek to protest the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission\'s decision to bar Ryspek Akmatbayev from running in parliamentary elections, the action\'s organizers told Interfax. Police have put the number of protesters at around 500. The demonstrators are holding banners with slogans reading \"Ryspek Akmatbayev is Our Deputy!\" and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Felix Kulov.

It is legal,\" one of the organizers said. \"The rally has no time limit. It will continue until the protesters\' demands are met,\" he said. \"Police will not interfere.
