GEORGIAN SHIP SINKS OFF COAST OF ITALY

A tanker sailing under the Georgian flag sank Saturday night off the coast of Italy, the Georgian Maritime Administration has told Interfax. There were 13 crewmembers, mainly Georgian nationals, aboard the tanker Margarita. All of them are alive.

There were 13 crewmembers, mainly Georgian nationals, aboard the tanker Margarita. All of them are alive. The Italian side offered timely help, the administration said. The tanker, en route from Genoa to Bulgaria, was caught in a powerful storm, an administration spokesman added. (Interfax)
