KARIMOV APPROVES OF IDEA OF UZBEKISTAN’S MEMBERSHIP OF EURASEC

Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov has approved of the proposal made by the Uzbek and Russian foreign ministers Uzbekistan should join the Eurasian Economic Community, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said. Currently the EURASEC has five members – Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. “We have confirmed our unanimity in the intention to seek stability in Central Asia,” Lavrov said.
