The terrorist attacks in Boston have focused new attention on security for the Winter Olympics next February in the Caucasus. What is the state of play today? How are the peoples of the region reacting? And what's likely to come next?

Paul Goble, for a generation, has been one of West's leading authorities on the Caucasus and Central Asia. He launched the series Window on Eurasia (windowoneurasia2.blogspot.com) when serving as research associate at the EuroCollege of the University of Tartu, Estonia. His distinguished career focusing on ethnic and religious issues in the former Soviet space has included assignments as advisor to the president of Estonia and as special advisor to the Secretary of State, James Baker. 

The Forum is preceded by a reception and light refreshments from 5 to 5:30 p.m. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 7 p.m.

The Central Asia-Caucasus Institute is a primary institution in the United States for the study of the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Caspian Region. The Institute, affiliated with Johns Hopkins University-SAIS, forms part of a Joint Center with the Silk Road Studies Program, affiliated with the Stockholm-based Institute for Security and Development Policy.
